Normal wiring:
In this method, one pair of speaker wire is used with one speaker and one amplifier channel. This method is used in the majority of applications.
Connection: Attach speaker wires to either the Midrange and Tweeter Input (2) or the Woofer Input (4) 5-way Binding Posts making sure to leave the Jumpers Straps (3) in place. Connect the other end of the speaker wires to your Receiver or Amplifiers speaker output terminals (see your Receiver or Amplifiers owners manuals for details on this connection). Make sure to observe correct polarity (Red = +, Black = -) when making these connections.
Bi-wiring: In this method, two pairs of speaker wire are used with one speaker and one amplifier channel. Connection: Remove the Jumper Straps (3) and retain for possible future use. Attach one set of speaker wires to the Midrange and Tweeter Input (2) 5-way Binding Posts. Next connect a second set of speaker wires to the Woofer Input (4) 5-way Binding Posts. Connect the other ends of the speaker wires to your Receiver or Amplifiers speaker output terminals (see your Receiver or Amplifiers owners manual for details on this connection). Make sure to observe correct polarity (Red = +, Black = -) when making these connections.
Important: The XLS-6 and XLS-6C cannot be bi-wired.
Wiring note: We recommend that you discuss Normal, Bi-Wiring, or Bi-Amplifying options with your Authorized Cerwin-Vega! Dealer and for recommendation on appropiate wire.

FAQS
Can i run these at 4 ohms xls 28
Yes CV speakers are 4 ohms
what’s the best amp for these beasts /receiver?
If using a pair of these speakers, I would suggest the Cerwin Vega CV-900 900watt amplifier
Are these speakers sold in pairs?or do I have to purchase two?
They were sold each when I bought mine and the last time I checked. Yes, they are expensive.
Is that price for a pair or a single tower?
The price is for 1 speaker. Don’t let that fool you, they are worth it.
What size receiver I need for two of these?
Best with a dedicated amp of 1000 watts / Channel @ 8 ohms or better. There is no receiver that will do them justice
Will these cerwin vega xls 28 get blown if i put more than 100 watts like if i put 150 or 170 watts in them will the fuse blow and not the speaker?
The purpose of the fuse is to protect the speaker – so the fuse should blow before the speaker if you are putting
Can they handle 2 ohm
It depends on what amplification is driving these speakers, the question is can your amplifier handle 2 ohms? I currently have my XLS-215’s bi-wired and have the subs running at 3 ohms by a Adcom mono-block, mids and highs are still running at 6 ohms. Since these speakers have an impedance of 6 ohms It seems that it would be a strange setup to have them running at 2 ohms.
Will these speakers pair up well with vintage components? I want loud old school metal and rock.
Shouldn’t be a problem and old school power might sound even better
Where’s the Bluetooth?
These are very large and heavy traditional home stereo speakers. No Bluetooth, which you usually find on portable small speakers.
Will these handle a Cdi1000?
No. They are 6 ohm. But any good receiver or amp should handle them OK. Because they’re 6 ohms there will be more power delivered to them than 8 ohm speakers.
Is this a set?
No. Individual. You have to buy 2 for a set
what is the price of these? the ad makes no indication whether the price is per speaker or pair.?
Per speaker ad makes no indication whether the price is per speaker or pair
Xls 15 : mono, or biwiring ? what speaker cable ?
There are two sets of wiring terminals on each speaker with a jumper that can be removed for bi-wiring. So either way. They are rated at 200w continuous or 500w peak.
Can I use these pairs of speakers for singing like karaoke?
This Speaker really good for Karaoke.
what’s the best amp for these beasts /receivers?
Not sure what the best amp is but I have a QSC PLX1804 power amp pushing these babies. I wanted to be able to push these speakers to the max and this amp does just that. I love these speakers.
Can you power these speakers properly by running them through the xls 15 sub? Also what do the 4 speaker hookups on the back mean?
Yes you can bi-amp these speakers. Thats what the 4 hookups are for. So you use 1 channel for the mid and tweeter and another channel for the 15’s. I own the XLS -215 and let me just say they are outstanding.
Will a denon av surround receiver avr dash s510 bt push these speakers?
Yes, you can use these speakers for Denon av
