Sharpdesk

Product Information:

The product being discussed is Sharpdesk, a software application
used for document management and scanning. It is available in
different versions, including Ver.6.0, Ver.5.1/Ver.5.2, and
Ver.3.5.

Installation:

For first-time users of Sharpdesk:

1. When starting Sharpdesk, a license activation dialog will be
   displayed.
2. Enter the Application Number provided with the product to
   authenticate successfully.
3. If an Online Activation dialog is displayed, download the
   latest installer of Sharpdesk from the Sharp website.

For users of Network Scanner Tool Lite:

1. Uninstall the Network Scanner Tool Lite by clicking Control
   Panel and then Uninstall Program.
2. Note down the settings of the current profile before installing
   Sharpdesk Ver.6.0 and recreate the profile after installation.

For users of Sharpdesk:

1. To check the Sharpdesk version, follow the procedure below:
   • If there is Help at the top: Click Help and then click About
     Sharpdesk.
   • If there is no Help at the top: Open the menu at the bottom
     right and click About.

Updating and Upgrading:

For existing users of Sharpdesk Ver.6.0:

1. Start the installer to run the installation and update to the
   latest version (Sharpdesk Ver.6.0).

For existing users of Sharpdesk Ver.5.1/Ver.5.2:

1. Start the installer to run the installation.
2. The screen prompting uninstallation of Sharpdesk Ver.5.1/5.2
   will be displayed. Finish the installation of Sharpdesk
   Ver.6.0.
3. Uninstall Sharpdesk Ver.5.1/5.2 from Uninstall a program in the
   Control Panel.
4. Install Sharpdesk Ver.6.0.
5. If you select to keep the profile of the Network Scanner Tool
   in step 2, the profile will be inherited.
6. No Application Number is required for this upgrade.
7. Some settings may not be inherited when upgrading from
   Sharpdesk Ver.5.1 (Build 5.1.0.51) or earlier. Note down the
   settings before upgrading and configure them again after upgrading
   the software.

For users of Sharpdesk Ver.3.5:

1. Users who purchased Ver.3.5 can upgrade for free to Sharpdesk
   Ver.6.0.
2. Users who purchased Ver.3.3 are not eligible for free
   upgrades.
3. To check the version you purchased, click Help on the screen
   and check if Product Key Details is in the pull-down menu.
   • If there is a Product Key Details item, the version you
     purchased is Ver.3.5.
   • If there is no Product Key Details item, the version you
     purchased is Ver.3.3.

For users who purchased Ver.3.5 and want to use Ver.6.0:

1. Start the Sharpdesk Ver.5.2 installer.
2. The screen prompting uninstallation of Sharpdesk Ver.3.5 will
   be displayed. Finish the installation of Sharpdesk Ver.5.2.
3. Uninstall Sharpdesk Ver.3.5 from Uninstall a program in the
   Control Panel.
4. Install Sharpdesk Ver.5.2.

For first-time users of Sharpdesk
License Activation The license activation dialog is displayed when Sharpdesk is started. Enter the Application Number provided with the product, and you will be authenticated successfully. (For details on this procedure, refer to the following documents: “Setup Guide”.)
If “Online Activation” dialog is displayed, please download the latest installer of
Sharpdesk from Sharp Website.
For users of “Network Scanner Tool Lite”
You need to uninstall (click “Control Panel” and then “Uninstall Program”) it in advance in order to use Sharpdesk.
The “Network Scanner Tool Lite” profile cannot be inherited. Before installing Sharpdesk Ver.6.0, note down the settings of the current profile, and recreate the profile after installing Sharpdesk Ver.6.0.

For users of “Sharpdesk”
You can check the Sharpdesk version by performing the procedure below. Check the version, and then check the supplementary information for each version.
Introduction (Checking the Version) 1. Start Sharpdesk.

2. Check the Version Information.
If there is “Help” at the top: 1- Click “Help” 2- Click “About Sharpdesk”.

If there is no “Help” at the top: 1- Open the menu at the bottom right. 2- Click “About”.

Existing users of Sharpdesk Ver.6.0 You can update to the latest version (Sharpdesk Ver.6.0). Start the installer to run the installation.

Existing users of Sharpdesk Ver.5.1/Ver.5.2 You can upgrade for free to a new release of Sharpdesk Ver.6.0.
1. Start the installer to run the installation.
The screen prompting uninstallation of Sharpdesk Ver.5.1/5.2 is displayed. Finish the installation of Sharpdesk Ver.6.0
2. Uninstall Sharpdesk Ver.5.1/5.2 from Uninstall a program in the Control Panel.
3. Install Sharpdesk Ver.6.0
If you select to keep the profile of the Network Scanner Tool in step 2, the profile will be inherited.
You do not need to enter the Application Number. If you perform an upgrade from Sharpdesk Ver. 5.1 (Build 5.1.0.51) or earlier,
some settings will not be inherited. Before upgrading Sharpdesk Ver. 5.2, note down the settings, and configure the settings again after upgrading the software. Users of Sharpdesk Ver.3.5 Users who purchased Ver.3.5 can upgrade for free to Sharpdesk Ver.6.0. Users who purchased Ver.3.3 are not eligible for free upgrades.

The screen prompting uninstallation of Sharpdesk Ver.3.5 is displayed. Finish the installation of Sharpdesk Ver.5.2.
2. Uninstall Sharpdesk Ver.3.5 from Uninstall a program in the Control Panel. 3. Install Sharpdesk Ver.5.2.
If you select to keep the profile of the Network Scanner Tool in step 2, the profile will be inherited.
You do not need to enter the Application Number.
4. Start the Sharpdesk Ver.6.0 installer.
The screen prompting uninstallation of Sharpdesk Ver.5.2 is displayed. Finish the installation of Sharpdesk Ver.6.0.
5. Uninstall Sharpdesk Ver.5.2 from Uninstall a program in the Control Panel. 6. Install Sharpdesk Ver.6.0
For users who purchased version Ver.3.3 and want to use Ver.6.0 To use Sharpdesk Ver.6.0, you need to purchase Sharpdesk again.
The Sharpdesk (Network Scanner Tool) profile cannot be inherited. Before installing Sharpdesk Ver.6.0, note down the settings of the current profile, and recreate the profile after installing Sharpdesk Ver.6.0.

Users of versions before Sharpdesk Ver.3.3 You need to purchase Sharpdesk again.
The Sharpdesk (Network Scanner Tool) profile cannot be inherited. Before installing Sharpdesk Ver.6.0, note down the settings of the current profile, and recreate the profile after installing Sharpdesk Ver.6.0.
Reinstalling Sharpdesk Ver.6.0
To transfer Sharpdesk to a new or different PC, you will need to uninstall Sharpdesk to cancel the license (Use the Uninstall a program in the Control Panel).
After installing Sharpdesk at the transfer destination, you will need to perform license activation again.
