THIS QUICK AND EASY PILLOW IS MADE USING TWO REMNANTS OF FABRIC. THE STYLE LOOKS BEST AS A RECTANGULAR PILLOW HOWEVER, THESE MAY BE MADE AS SQUARE PILLOWS ALSO.
- Cut two pieces of fabric three times the width of the pillow insert and the pillow height plus two SA (seam allowances). For a 16″x12″ insert, cut fabric 48″x13″. Use contrasting fabrics for the front and back.
- Pin the fabric’s right side together around all four sides. Sew, leaving a hole for turning. The hole should be large enough to put the pillow insert inside.
- Clip corners and turn right side out. Press.

Insert the pillow form and measure for the center embellishment
- Put the pillow insert inside the fabric, centering it. Close the hole in your method of choice.
- Overlay the ends of the pillow cover over the pillow insert.
- Gather the ends in the center to determine the size for the center embellishment or tie.

Complete the pillow with a center tie or embellishment
Make a wrap, scrunchie, or something decorative to hold the ends in place.
- Cut a piece of fabric long enough to wrap around the pillow ends in the center plus a SA. The fabric width will be determined by whether you want it to scrunch or be flat.
- Press 1/2″ along two long ends to the back side.
- Pin and stitch the short ends’ right sides together.
- Press this seam open. Turn right sides out.
- Pull the ends of the pillow through the scrunchie to complete.
- ENJOY YOUR PILLOW!
