VIEW C
- Pin gores matching notches (fig. 4) and sew the eight seams using a straight stitch, from waist to mark (fig. 5).

- Pin godet to open part as shown (fig. 6) and stitch both sides from hem to mark on godet (fig. 7).

- Pin flounce pieces at side seams (fig. 10) and stitch. Mark centers (fig. 11).

- Pin flounce to skirt matching notches with seams (fig. 12) and stitch

Elastic At Waist
- Overlap elastic ends and stitch as shown to form a loop (fig. 13), divide it into fourths and mark with pins (fig. 14).
- Divide waist opening into fourths (center front, center back and side seams) and mark with pins (fig. 15).
- Pin elastic to wrong side of opening, matching pins.
- Sew along raw edge of fabric using a zigzag stitch and stretching the elastic as you sew to fit the opening (fig. 16).
- Fold elastic to wrong side of fabric and stitch again, over the first zigzag stitch (fig. 17).

Finishing
- There are different options for finishing the skirt hem. It all depends on the fabric, the sewing machine and… your inspiration! Here are a few suggestions :
- Fold hem by 1 (3/8’’) or 2 (3/4’’) cm to wrong side and topstitch using a straight stitch (best with straight or A-line skirt)
- Use the rolled hem technique with your serger or use a short zigzag stitch along raw edge for lettuce effect (best with skirts like A and E)
- Leave the hem as is (if your fabric does not fray). This finish is very common in ready-to-wear stores.
- Sew lace trimming to the right side of skirt hem.
