Doug S Headers D359 Full Length Header Instruction Manual

D359 Full Length Header

Product Information

The D359 is a set of long tube headers designed for use in
1955-57 Chevrolet vehicles equipped with a 572 BBC Tall Deck
engine. The headers are made from high-quality materials and come
with all necessary installation hardware, including header bolts,
gaskets, lock washers, hex nuts, and collector gaskets. The headers
come in a two-piece design, with one left side header and one right
side header. Additionally, the product comes with two reducers and
two Doug’s stickers.

Product Usage Instructions

Disassembly:

  1. Remove bolts attaching head pipes stock manifolds.
  2. Remove the stock manifolds.
  3. Remove the Oil Dipstick Tube, Starter, and Oil Filter.
  4. Remove the Spark Plug Wires and Spark Plugs. Remove the
Generator/Alternator if attached to the manifolds.
  5. Clean the cylinder head exhaust mounting surface.

Installation:

  1. Starting on the Driver’s side, slip the header into position
from the bottom. This is very tight to the steering box – take your
time. If steering is straight ahead this gives best Pitman arm
clearance, it may help to drop the steering linkage.
  2. Using the supplied Header bolts and lock washers, slip the
gasket in place and start header bolts at each end of the flange.
Install remainder of the bolts and tighten from the center and
    working outwards.
