The PHP9030SJ/BM is a GE ProfileTM 30 Built-In Touch-Control Induction Cooktop. It is designed for installation in your kitchen countertop and offers advanced touch controls for precise cooking.

Here are some key dimensions and installation information:

  • Requires a 3-inch free area between the bottom of the cooktop and any combustible material.
  • Requires a 15-inch minimum distance from the cooktop to adjacent overhead cabinets.
  • Comes with a 48-inch flexible armored cable for electrical connection.

Approximate cooking dimensions:

  • Maximum depth of unprotected overhead cabinets: 13 inches (when no hood or microwave is installed)
  • Baffle depth near the center of the unit: 4-5/8 inches (except when installed above an approved wall oven)
  • Rear air intake depth: 3-1/4 inches
  • Cooktop width: 29-7/8 inches
  • Cooktop height: 21 inches

A filler trim kit (JXTR32B for black or JXTR32W for white) is available to reduce the cutout opening for installation if your countertop cutout is larger than the specified dimensions.

It is recommended to make a template when cutting the opening in the counter to ensure accuracy.

The cooktop requires a minimum clearance of 2-1/2 inches to the rear wall and a minimum clearance of 2 inches to the side walls.

If installing above a wall oven, there should be a minimum distance of 2-1/2 inches from the front edge of the countertop to the front edge of the cooktop cutout, and a minimum distance of 31-1/4 inches from the top surface of the countertop to the top surface of the wall oven support platform.

The cooktop has a KW rating of 7.4 at 240V and 6.4 at 208V. The amperage is 40 Amps for both voltage options. Please check local codes for the required breaker size.

The cooktop is ADA compliant and listed by Underwriters Laboratories.

If you are replacing a similar cooktop from GE Appliances or another brand, the GE cooktops are guaranteed for an exact fit. GE Appliances will pay up to $100 toward modifications if needed.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Ensure that there is a 3-inch free area between the bottom of the cooktop and any combustible material.
  2. Make sure there is a 15-inch minimum distance from the cooktop to adjacent overhead cabinets.
  3. Connect the cooktop to a suitable electrical supply using the provided 48-inch flexible armored cable.
  4. If your countertop cutout is larger than the specified dimensions, consider using the filler trim kit (JXTR32B for black or JXTR32W for white) to reduce the cutout opening for installation.
  5. If required, make a template when cutting the opening in the counter to ensure accuracy.
  6. Provide a minimum clearance of 2-1/2 inches to the rear wall and 2 inches to the side walls.
  7. If installing above a wall oven, ensure a minimum distance of 2-1/2 inches from the front edge of the countertop to the front edge of the cooktop cutout, and 31-1/4 inches from the top surface of the countertop to the top surface of the wall oven support platform.
  8. Check local codes for the required breaker size for electrical connection.
  9. Follow the touch control instructions provided in the user manual for precise cooking.
