Step 1 | Place Inner Pot into the unit. |

Step 3 | Place Lid on Cooker with Handle and Recessed Valve pointed to the “1:00 o’clock” position. Rotate Lid counter-clockwise until you feel a click. |
Step 4 | Toggle Pressure Valve switch to the CLOSE position. |
Step 5 | Follow your recipe for the correct cook time. |
Step 6 | For easiest cleanup, wash Power Cooker parts immediately after cooking. Place dishwasher-safe parts on the top rack only. |
NOTE: The Power Cooker will take 15 – 17 minutes to pressurize before it starts to cook.

The Power Cooker has up to eight basic cooking modes that may be used alone or in combination to produce an infinite variety of results. The Quick Start Guide supplied with this unit provides Step-By-Step instructions.
WHEN THE UNIT IS FIRST PLUGGED IN, 0000 will appear on the LED Display. When a cooking process is selected, such as COOK, the default time will blink 5 times. Then rotating double zeros may appear on the left side of the screen to signify it is building pressure. Once pressure is built, the zeros will stop rotating and begin counting down the time. It will beep, the LED Display will be blank, and enter KEEP WARM mode once the time has expired until canceled.

Families of 3 to 5 people – the 6 qt. is the most popular size of Instant Pot and is a good fit for most families. Smaller families who like having leftovers and easy meals for the next day.
5 to 7 Quarts – This is very much the standard size when it comes to pressure cookers. You’re provided with more flexibility in terms of the types of meals you can cook fully within the appliance, and can look to serve anywhere between 3-5 people with a single use

Can a pressure cooker be used as a crockpot? Yes, you can use a pressure cooker like a crockpot. However, the food cooks differently than what it does inside of a crockpot. You don’t get as much heat distribution with a pressure cooker because it cooks the food with the steam trapped inside.

In general the large size pressure cooker use outer lids and small cookers sizes make use of inner lids. It is considered as that inner lid types are safer compared to outer lid as they employ extra lock in mechanism to hold the build up the extra pressure.
We recommend getting the smallest pressure cooker to fit your needs because a bigger the pressure cooker will take longer to reach pressure, will need more liquid to get there and it will be bulky to both clean and store.
So as long as you have that much liquid in there, you can safely pressure cook any amount of food, large or small. If you’re not pressure cooking, you don’t have to follow the minimum liquid rule. And please keep in mind that because of the extra space, it may take a little longer to pressurize.
6 quarts is the most popular pressure cooker capacity. With that said, you have 4-quart, 6-quart, 8-quart, 10-quart, and 12-quart as the most common pressure cookers.
Add 1 1/2 cups of liquid (water, stock, etc.). Cook for 20 minutes (per pound of meat) at high pressure for large chunks and 15 minutes (per pound of meat) for small chunks. Use a quick pressure release method.
While you may cover meat almost completely for a conventional braise, use just enough liquid for the cooker to reach pressure – during pressure cooking the meat will release it’s own juice and braise in that flavorful liquid, instead.
9. A “OH” symbol will appear indicating the cooker has entered the Keep Warm state. 10. Move the pressure release valve in order to release the pressure and then open the lid.
Once it reaches pressure the float valve will pop up, the Instant Pot will beep once, and the cook time will begin to count down from 5 minutes. You might notice hissing sounds and some steam escaping from the steam release valve or float valve hole while the pressure builds – this is normal.
