In these cycles, you can specify the drying time. Time options available are 15, 30, 60 and 90 minutes. For a complete list of all cycles, please refer to the cycle guide document. - START/PAUSE

WRINKLE SHIELD If you will be unable to remove a load immediately, activate this option to add 150 minutes of periodic tumbling to help reduce wrinkles from forming after the cycle completes.
STATIC REDUCE This option can help reduce the build up of static cling formed during the drying process. When activated, this option will tumble with steam towards the end of the cycle to reduce static.
MUTE CYCLE SIGNAL Use this option to turn the end of drying cycle signal on or off.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT CYCLE
A cycle guide for your dryer can be found online at www.whirlpool.com. The document will help identify which cycle to choose for various load types as well as the default cycle options. For example we recommend using the NORMAL cycle with Medium temperature for cottons, linens and mixed-garment loads.
SPECIALITY CYCLE
WRINKLE CONTROL:
This cycle is designed to help remove or reduce wrinkles, this cycle is great for permanent press clothing. The dryer cycle uses low heat and a cool down period to keep clothes from wrinkling or creasing.
STEAM REFRESH:
This cycle is best for reducing wrinkles and odors from dry items. This cycle is great to refresh a wrinkled garment or when a load was left in the dryer too long.
For detailed installation instruction and maintenance information, winter storage, and transportation tips, please see the “Owner’s Manual” included with your machine

FAQS
Generally, Whirlpool dryers have a lifespan of 8-12 years. However, some may last longer if you maintain it properly. But if your Whirlpool dryer is at least ten years old, replacing it is more reasonable. Repairing the 10-year-old dryer will likely cost less.
A failed thermal fuse is one of the most common part failures when your Whirlpool dryer won’t start. This fuse is a protective feature that blows if the dryer is in danger of overheating.
A dryer should last 10-13 years. To extend the dryer’s life, clean the lint trap after each use and make sure the outer vent is clear as well.
The most-reliable brands include LG, Speed Queen, and Whirlpool (including Amana and Maytag). Brands at the bottom include GE, Electrolux, and Samsung.

Excessive Noise. Do you often hear a lot of noise, such as rattling, banging, or high-pitched squealing? …

Is it worth repairing a dryer? Dryer repairs are worth it if the appliance is less than 4 years old and the cost is less than $400. For older dryers and/or costly repairs, replacing your appliance is more cost effective.
There are many things that could be the culprit for why your dryer won’t start, including a bad thermal fuse; a failed start switch or door switch; a bad drive motor (what makes the dryer’s drum turn and the blower wheel to work); a broken drive belt; a bad timer; a bad belt switch; a blown control board; or overall .
A dryer needs to be plugged in to run. Check the outlet first and make sure that the dryer is securely plugged in. Also, if an electric dryer stopped working, it could be because of outlet damage or a tripped fuse.
According to Kitchens.com, the typical price range spans from $200 to $1,750. Plan to pay about double that if you’re also buying a new washing machine because washers cost around the same amount.
Ultimately the Maytag is probably the better built of the two units, although it’s a pretty close call. The features are similar, but GE provides an extra layer of versatility, although it’s extra bulk also makes it a harder fit in certain places.
If your clothes dryer is seeing normal levels of use and approaching ten years old, replace the entire thing rather than replacing a burned-out motor or bad pump. After all, something else is going to fail soon.
Opt for a medium dryer for 3-4 people households and regular medium size loads of laundry. And opt for a large dryer if you’re a family of five or more, and do frequent large loads of laundry. In general, tumble dryers vary from 15 pounds to 22 pounds. 15-16 pound dryers: Small families.
On electric dryers, the thermal fuse is often located on the blower housing or near the heating element. On gas models, the thermal fuse can be found on the blower housing or near the burner. To reach the fuse on some dryers, you can simply uninstall the appliance’s rear panel or a lower front access panel.
The most common cause of a dryer shutting off after a few minutes is a broken or faulty drive belt. The drive belt goes around the dryer drum, idler pulley, and the motor pulley and helps the dryer to rotate when operating. If it is defective, the dryer won’t work correctly.
The best time to buy appliances is when new models roll out: washers, dryers, and dishwashers in September and October, refrigerators in May, and ranges/ovens in January. When manufacturers unveil the latest models, retailers reduce prices on models from previous years to create more room for the new inventory.
