To protect battery lifespan, fully charge at least once every 3 months. Battery life will vary due to usage patterns and environmental conditions.

Do not expose the JBL Flip 6 to liquids without removing cable connection. Do not expose JBL Flip 6 to water while charging. It may result in permanent damage to the speaker or power source.

Chemicals and salt in your pool or the ocean can damage the waterproof seals or harm the connector surface over time if not rinsed off after use. After a liquid spill or rinsed, do not charge your speaker until it’s completely dry and clean. Charging when wet might damage your speaker.

With USB-C charging protection, a reminder sound will alert you to unplug if the connector detects water, salt, or any other chemicals.

When using an external adapter, the output voltage/current of the external adapter should not exceed 5V/3A.

Can I use the JBL Flip 6 with my car stereo?

Yes, you can! You can connect the JBL Flip 6 to your car stereo via Bluetooth® or the 3.5 mm aux-in jack.

How do I connect the JBL Flip 6 to my phone?

The JBL Flip 6 pairs with your phone automatically when you turn it on. If this does not happen, go to “Settings” and select “Bluetooth®” on your phone. Then select “JBL Flip 6” from the list of available devices.

How do I charge the JBL Flip 6?

Connect the USB charging cable to a power source and plug it into the micro-USB port on the back of the speaker. The battery is charged through this port.

How long does it take to charge the battery?

The battery is charged through a USB connection in about 2.5 hours (5 V / 3 A).

How do I play music from my phone or tablet?

First, pair your device with your speaker by following these steps: 1) Turn on Bluetooth® on your device and make sure that Bluetooth® is enabled and that it is set to “On”. 2) Press and hold down the power button for 3 seconds until you see “Pairing” on the LED display. 3) On your device, search for available Bluetooth® devices and select “JBL Flip 6” from the list of available devices. 4) If a PIN code appears on your device, enter “0000” (four zeros). 5) Once connected, you can play music from your device by selecting it as an input source in your music player app or by using one of our pre-programmed playlists in Party Boost™ mode (see page 8 for more details).

Can I use my speaker when it is charging?

Yes, but please note that charging reduces battery life and therefore limits how long you can play music before recharging. Also note that if you use Party Boost™ mode while charging, you will hear sound from only one of your speakers at a time as they alternate playing music in Party Boost™ mode (see page 8 for more details). To avoid this issue, we recommend that you turn off Party Boost™ mode when charging.

Can the Flip 6 remain plugged in all the time or will that damage the battery over time?

There is no harm in leaving your JBL Flip 6 connected to electricity at all times. You can simply pick it up, unplug it from the charger and be on your way, knowing that you have a full charge. The battery will not overcharge. However, if you’d like to conserve electrical energy, disconnect from charging.

Our JBL Flip 6 – Portable Bluetooth Speaker does not have an Aux Input, so no analog connection is possible.

Where is this product made?

Thanks for your question. Our JBL Flip 6 is manufactured in China.

It says ipx7 here but jbl site says ipx67, which is it?

Our JBL Flip 6 has an IP67 rating. IP67 protects the product from submersion in 1 meter (3.3 feet) of water for up to 30 minutes and it is also Dust-proof.

Can use a thumb drive play music?

Thanks for your question. The Flip 6 has no provision to connect a thumb drive.

Yes, you can walk away with your phone and it will still play, as long as you don’t walk to far. This speaker is like any other blue tooth device that has a certain range.
